New Year is one of my favourite times, because it is a nice opportunity to do a bit of self-reflection. Looking back at the last 12 months and working out what you’ve achieved, what you’ve been lucky enough to experience, and what you’d like to leave behind as you move into the next year. 2025 has been a weird one for me, and I’ve spent a fair amount of time in some dark places. But reflecting on how I felt this time last year is a nice reminder that things can and do get better. And even while I was dwelling (some might say ‘wallowing’) in the darkness, I kept writing and recording and commissioning with the pleasantly surprising result that there’s a phenomenal crop of amazing guest audio porn, guest blogs and posts from me to include in this year’s round-up.

A special mention this year from a personal perspective too. Because things are getting tough financially, some of you already know I’ve had to take on a part time job that is entirely unrelated to what I do here as GOTN. It’s thrown up some very odd emotions: relief at being a bit more financially secure so I’m not falling into debt; self-pity as I realise I’m not allowed to call myself a full time writer any more; panic as I discover there are fewer hours in each day to do the writing I love; but most of all gratitude. The only reason I’m able to do this at all is my exceptional boss. She took a punt on me, accepted a lot of risk as I worked to earn a new skill, gave me courage and confidence as she championed me while I practiced, then arranged my working hours to leave enough time for me to keep GOTN running without too much upheaval. In the first few weeks of my new job, she checked in regularly to make sure I was doing OK, adjusted my hours when needed, and reassured me when I hit obstacles that triggered my massive imposter syndrome. If I could name a hero of 2025, it would be her. She’s an organised, supportive, powerful badass who does sometimes read this blog – so I hope she sees this bit. As a direct result of her support, I’ve been able to cover a portion of my own living costs with that job, which means that over here I can increase the money I pay for illustrations, double rates for guest blogs, raise fees for audio commissions, and likely commission even more audio in 2026 than I did in 2025. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to her for making this happen. She’s the best.
Audio porn and other stats from this year
I am ridiculously excited to note that we now have almost 600 audio stories on the site – we’ll reach that milestone next week when two more go live. Woo! Unfortunately this year, the one area where that can no longer be true is in the UK, where the Online Safety Act has compelled me to block this accessibility feature to people browsing from a UK IP address. However, even with this deeply frustrating censorship, we’ve still achieved around 1.5 million listens in 2025 so far. My favourite posts
Shameless self-promotion gets a slot right at the end, but it has to be in here somewhere. As with guest blogs above, if I only ever listed ‘top’ blogs and audio by popularity, it would all be porn – the posts that are more discursive or emotion-led would never get a look in. But this is never going to be a pure porn blog because life doesn’t work that way. I enjoy writing the emotional or thinky ones, and here are a few that I’ve enjoyed writing this year.
In August, I allowed myself to have an epic rant that’s been building over many years about the harms of age verification. In other epic rants, the post I wrote at the start of the year encouraging instructing men to up their game has only proven more relevant as time goes on. I did worry at the time that I might look back on that post with regret, but I’m delighted to find that I don’t. I stand by every word and I wish I’d written more. On to more positive things, I really enjoyed having a test date with a blog reader in February this year.
