SAN DIEGO—The former owner of defunct adult site GirlsDoPorn, Michael Pratt, filed a complaint against the U.S. Marshals Service earlier this month alleging that he was denied placement in a prison with a protective custody unit for those who are guilty of federal sex crimes.
Pratt is serving a 27-year prison sentence for his role as ringleader in a consumer fraud and sex trafficking racket operating under the guise of a premium, barely legal fetish porn website. He was also a fugitive for a time until he was apprehended in Spain and extradited to face sex trafficking charges.
In a handwritten complaint filed with a local federal district court, Pratt says the marshals neglected to follow common practice of placing criminals with what he calls “bad charges” in protective custody.
He is currently held at a federal correctional facility in Victorville, notes CBS 8.
“Victorville has a high incidence rate of inmate assaults and is not considered to be safe for inmates with ‘bad charges,'” Pratt wrote, accusing the marshals of knowing about these supposed risks and not acting.
Pratt says that staying at Victorville “endangers his health and safety and places him in substantial risk of harm.”
