TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier’s office agreed with attorneys representing high-risk payment processor Segpay to dismiss a lawsuit alleging age verification law violations, AVN has confirmed.
Michigan-based attorney Corey Silverstein, who represents Segpay, told AVN in a statement that he is pleased with the dismissal.
Silverstein explained, “Segpay is very pleased with the outcome and grateful that the Florida Attorney General’s office worked collaboratively with our legal team to understand the facts and resolve the matter thoroughly.”
Silverstein serves as counsel to Lawrence Walters of the Walters Law Group, based in Longwood, Florida. Walters served as lead defense counsel in the Florida case against Segpay. A filing with the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in Sarasota County, Florida, confirmed a joint stipulation for voluntary dismissal of the Segpay case.
As AVN reported, Uthmeier sued Segpay and Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub.com, in separate complaints, for violating age verification laws back in September 2025. Uthmeier’s office has sued multiple platforms for violating the controversial age verification law Florida enacted in recent years, House Bill 3.
Uthmeier also sued the firms that own tube sites XVideos and XNXX. AVN covered these complaints previously. In addition to the charges he brought against these companies for age verification law violations, Uthmeier sued them for violating the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, asserting deceptive trade practices, per AVN’s reporting.
“Florida is committed to being the best place to raise children,” Uthmeier said in September. “We passed strong legislation to keep kids from being exposed to harmful and toxic material, and instead of following it, these platforms ignored it.”
