SAN DIEGO—A woman who helped recruit and traffic young women as a part of the GirlsDoPorn sex trafficking ring was sentenced to prison on Friday at a federal district court in San Diego. U.S. District Judge Janis Sammartino sentenced Valorie Moser to two years in federal prison and three years of supervised release.
Moser pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking back in 2021 and worked with prosecutors in the criminal case against GirlsDoPorn’s senior leadership, such as Michael Pratt. Pratt was a focal point in a scheme that involved hundreds of women and girls being trafficked and abused.
Moser was tasked with bookkeeping and serving as a “friendly” female face for victims. Alexandra Foster, the federal prosecutor on Moser’s case, recited a sentencing impact statement made by an anonymous victim.
The victim said, “Valorie Moser was the one who picked me up and drove me to the hotel where I was trafficked. … Her role was to make me feel more comfortable because women trust other women. She reassured me on the way to the hotel that everything would be OK.”
The attorney for Moser issued an apology to the victims while she was crying and sobbing in the courtroom, notes local reporting.
Anthony Columbo, Moser’s attorney, read her apology to the victims who were present and for the record.
“I want you to know that I hurt you,” Moser wrote. “I want you to know that I listened and I learned so much. I feel disgusted, shameful, and foolish … I failed, and I am truly sorry.”
As AVN reported previously, Michael Pratt was arrested by the Spanish National Police in December 2022 while he was allegedly visiting Madrid, Spain. He was later extradited to the United States. He first appeared in a San Diego federal court in March 2024. Pratt initially chose to plead not guilty, which was entered on his behalf.
Survivors of the Pratt-led scheme have lost jobs, family, friends, and their stability. One high-profile example featured the woman formerly known as Kristy Althaus having to change her name due to stalkers and harassment, even after she legally changed her name to protect her and her family’s privacy.
