Is Smiley Mikey’s new rock-music video the most twisted ever?

The music video for Smiley Mikey’s new up-tempo guitar-riffing rocker, Twisted Like a Biscuit, is as high-spirited and uninhibited as the song itself.

But don’t think it’s sheerly shameless raunch, songwriter/artist Smiley Mikey says.
“The song may sound like classic Rolling Stones at their naughtiest, with a raucous Ramones-like call-and-response in the outro. But it’s actually a poignant love song from a guy to a girl.
“It’s just that the girl whom the guy falls for (literally) happens to be a dominatrix.”
The video was released Dec. 3 on YouTube: tinyurl.com/4sk678ya
The video was shot in November at the world-famous Moonlite BunnyRanch legal brothel in Mound House, Nevada.
It features professional courtesans trained to cater to clients’ requests.
The lead actress is G.I. Jen, who works at the Love Ranch, a sister house to the BunnyRanch in northern Nevada.

Smiley Mikey plays two characters in the video: an arrogant investor, and a rock singer/pianist (himself).
The cast also includes 11 other courtesans, including Cami Parker — who was featured in HBO’s Cathouse, the Series — portraying a bartender.
Feature-film veteran Cumisha Amado served as technical advisor.

“The video is actually socioeconomic commentary, as well as psychosexual commentary,” says Smiley Mikey, whose real name is Michael Sion.
“Depending on the viewer’s temperament, it also can be considered a comedy or a dramedy, a tragedy or a travesty,” he says.
“As for the song,” the Reno, Nevada-based artist continues, “there are enough same-old love songs, and there are definitely too many breakup songs, out these days. I don’t write about the same-old stuff.
“If people don’t at least partially relate to, or appreciate, the lyrics of Twisted Like a Biscuit, perhaps they will be intrigued and entertained, nonetheless. And I hope their curiosity is piqued or rewarded by the video’s peek inside the BunnyRanch.”
Finally, what to make of the song’s title/tag line?

“‘Twisted Like a Biscuit’ can mean whatever you want it to mean,” Smiley Mikey says. “To borrow the response Bob Dylan used back in the day: ‘What does it mean to you?’
“You can do lots of things with a biscuit. Eat it. Twist it. Huck it. Sing about it. Just like the video shows.”
